Enrichment Associates Consultation & Training was founded by Richard F. Liotta, Ph.D. (Psychologist) and Rosemary Lake-Liotta, L.C.S.W. (Licensed Clinical Social Worker) to offer consultation, training, workshops, and presentations primarily to people dedicated to helping others improve their lives. Training and workshops focus on Ericksonian Hypnosis, Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), brief psychotherapy, and related skill-sets and methods. These disciplines have broad applicability, regardless of setting or orientation, to facilitate changes in cognition, emotion and behavior.
"Enrichment" is our guiding metaphor. To us it expresses the essence of the processes of change. Change involves building on the strengths, using the inner capacities we all have more effectively, discovering and enhancing resources, and expanding choice; that is the process of Enrichment. Our mission as consultants and trainers is too teach strategies to help you and your clients live more fulfilled and successful lives.
Consultation: Individual & Organizational Services:
We offer consultation focusing on effective enrichment strategies. We utilize potent procedures, processes, and patterns can be invaluable to individuals, groups, and organizations.
Consultation services include services for individuals. This can take a variety of forms toward an array of purposes. Individual consultation can be face-to-face or long distance via phone and email. It could involve one or two contacts, or be more ongoing. Programs are designed depending on your needs. Life Effectiveness & Achievement Planning, decision making consultation, defining goals and plans to achieve them, and addressing your barriers that make success challenging or elusive are frequently objectives of individual consultation. Individual consultation often involves practicing strategies for effective management of emotions and cognitions to more efficiently reach your potential. Many skills, such as self-hypnosis, can be learned through consultation sessions. Follow-up consultations to hone skills learned in trainings are also available. Individual consultation is not psychotherapy, the focus is not on symptom relief per se; rather attention is given to discovering resources, learning skills, and expanding choice so you can achieve the life you are seeking.
Individualized Enrichment Support products are also available. Personalized CDs can be designed to support your change and improvement efforts. These can be incredibly powerful, as compared to many products not tailored to your specific needs, cognitive style, or in the language that resonates for you. See “Products” for more information.

As an outside consultant we can examine your concerns with new eyes and from a perspective that you may not have considered. Enrichment A.C.T. Blog – Because this is good stuff!
The purpose of our blog is to reflect on selected aspects of personal change strategies, NLP, hypnosis, and psychotherapy. It also examines and highlights elements pertaining to the evolving art and science in these areas. We are passionate about NLP and Hypnosis as effective strategies to help people change. We have seen these methods work time and time again. In our view all people who help people change would benefit from knowledge of the NLP & Hypnosis. These disciplines have broad applicability to facilitate changes in cognition, emotion and behavior. But we also have concerns about the grand claims and promises of magical solutions that sometimes characterize the public face of these disciplines. In our view the fluff often obscures the useful core beneath, a more productive place to direct attention.
I (Dr. Liotta) have been a student of hypnosis and NLP since 1983, though certainly not exclusively. I also have experience in cognitive behavioral therapy, family therapy, and humanistic/existential therapies. I have expertise in psychological assessment and with a variety of specific populations. I like to pick things apart, try to understand them more fully, and consider connections. The fields of NLP and hypnosis have provided some of the most useful tools and conceptual sets to understand how people work and how they change. There is no single path to the places varyingly described as wellness, mental health, behavioral health, personal growth, self-improvement, symptom relief, self-actualization, or inner peace; to name a few. But hypnosis and NLP offer tools and perspectives that are immensely useful toward these destinations and in the healing profession known as psychotherapy.
We hope you will find something useful here. We’ll also link you to interesting content and resources that catch our attention and comment where it feels appropriate. This blog is intended as another voice among the many serving the greater purpose of helping people live more fulfilling and productive lives.
Training; Workshops, Seminars, & Presentations:
Training includes workshops, seminars, and presentations for community organizations, agencies, mental health professionals, and business. Training and workshops, in general, focus on a variety of topics, methods and skill-sets; including rapport, influence and persuasion, effective communication, self-enrichment, personal change, effectiveness, motivation, and systemic ecology. Training and workshops focus on skills and methods from Ericksonian Hypnosis, Ericksonian Psychotherapy, Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), and similar approaches. These disciplines have broad applicability for enriching mind, emotion, and behavior in any aspect of life.
We also offer presentations on a variety of psychological and mental health topics. We can customize presentations so they are useful to the needs of the audience. See some of the other information on this site, such as in the “about us” section, for more discussion of our clinical experience and specialties.
For mental health professionals, trainings are offered in Ericksonian Hypnosis, NLP, brief psychotherapy, and skills (such as rapport and the effective use of language) that are applicable in psychotherapy of any orientation. Ericksonian Hypnosis and Ericksonian Psychotherapy utilizes what the client brings to the therapeutic situation and assumes that people have the resources they need to change. It is the role of the therapist to help them discover solutions within themselves. The assumptions underlying hypnosis from an Ericksonian perspective differ from some other schools of hypnosis. Interventions tend to be individualized, rather than standardized or script-based. NLP, as a therapeutic modality, is roughly a cognitive behavioral approach. But it also takes into account aspects of cognition underlying one’s beliefs and “self-talk,” such as how one represents their world. By modifying aspects of cognition often ignored by traditional approaches rapid change can often occur. We endorse the perspective that NLP techniques utility in psychotherapy needs to be considered in the broader psychotherapeutic context, rather than as interventions in isolation. Much more is said about this issue in the other material on this site.
